Since my mentor had the previous recording software that I used, I have to find a new one. The free software that I decided on was a trial version of Fruity Loops. This program is much more complicated and difficult to use than Garage Band is. Luckily, I was able to borrow recording software from my mentor to use, and I'm getting a little bit better with Fruity Loops. The main part that I'm concerned about is adding other instruments, since Garage Band provided those and Fruity Loops does not, but only time will tell how this project will turn out.

Quarantine has definitely put a wedge in my senior project, but I'm sure I am luckier than others. I contacted my mentor, and today we had a video call to discuss the future of my project. My mentor and I can't exactly meet face-to-face at the current moment, which is a huge inconvenience since my mentor was the one with the recording software and fancy tools. The overall downside of quarantine is that, since we can't meet to finish the recording, I have to start over. Also, the app we were using to mix the song was on his iPad, so I have downloaded various free recording software that I now need to get used too. The final downside I can see right now is that any extra instruments I wanted to add are going to have to be improvised, as I only have an acoustic guitar. I'm not going to complain about starting over, as recording the song should be the easiest part of the project and my mentor is still willing to help me get this project done. |
