Working on the song with my mentor has gotten much easier. I'm getting used to the program Garage Band, and the recording process as a whole. When I met up with my mentor last time, his recording equipment was temporarily out of order, so much of the time spent on the last meeting was used to continue writing the song. Base chords and a bridge are finished so far, and I believe we are going to work on the percussion next time.

This meeting with my mentor went extremely well. He had brought in recording equipment, as well as various tools to help with the song-making process. A few of these tools would be his Midi keyboard and an app called Garage Band. We recorded the basic strumming pattern to the song and added a temporary drum line, but the session was mostly spent getting familiar with the recording program. Once we have a steady drum-line and a solid melody to work off of, we can start adding other instruments, such as the electric guitar or maybe some piano.
This project has proven to be more tough than I first imagined, but I've been working hard on it. Over Christmas break, I worked on my Senior project whenever I could. Music theory is far too complicated for me to understand, but I'm learning more about which chords work best with each other thanks to my mentor, as well as other aspects of the song-writing process. The process as a whole will be grueling, but I'm determined to get it finished.
